The best thing is location - right by Scotland and the square and beautiful grounds. And it's by River Peffery.

Our luggage hadn't arrived at the airport. The staff was very helpful here.

The hotel sits in a lovely area surrounded by hills. There's ample parking in front, with access to the bikes throughout our stay, a significant plus for any biker group.
Rooms could use a serious update. Some furnishings feel stuck in the past and create a dated vibe that doesn't match the beautiful exterior. The menu for dinner was rather limited , and had to ask for essentials that should have been offered upfront. Breakfast options seemed basic, and the food temperature was a bit off. The overall experience was like it was leaning towards a 'value deal' rather than a quality stay.

The staff were all very friendly and approachable. The setting in the heart of the highlands is unbeatable. The breakfast was excellent. Large rooms. Very quiet.
The bar prices and wine list seemed a little expensive,

Room was very comfortable, warm and hotel lounge very comfortable and relaxing - breakfast good
We went for dinner at 7.45pm to be told that the kitchen stops taking orders at 7.30pm. The waiter suggested going down to the village shop to buy snacks!.. We thought this was unacceptable for a large hotel catering for tourists - the receptionist had not told us before hand that we needed to be in the restaurant so early. Many guests had arrived too late for the hotels restaurant and some had indeed gone to the local shop and came back asking for cutlery to eat their fruit or whatever. This spoiled an otherwise comfortable stay and we felt gave a very poor impression of scottish hospitality to guests who had chosen to stay in this hotel

The restaurant had a nice menu of the day that was quite inviting! I appreciated how clean and neat my room was, just like a well-kept lab!
It wasn't exactly affordable, but I could live with that.

The exterior was beautiful and the town of Strathpeffer is a quaint town near to Inverness. The night porter was extremely helpful, thoughtful and welcoming.
Checked in later in the evening - the hotel misplaced our booking. The manager attended to us and we didn't receive a warm welcome at all. We were led to believe the hotel was full and were out of luck.... until she found the booking. Our room was decent - clean & updated but our friends had a room in appalling condition. Not clean, totally run down, no phone, spiders everywhere, no shower etc.
